Speech-Language Pathology Services

Helping Students Communicate & Succeed

Effective communication is key to a child’s success in school and beyond. At MindBridge Solutions, our speech-language pathologists (SLPs) and assistants provide comprehensive speech and language therapy to help students improve verbal and non-verbal communication skills.

Our Speech Therapy Services Include:

Expressive & Receptive Language Therapy

This form of therapy focuses on supporting students who struggle with:

  • Receptive language (understanding spoken or written information) – Students with challenges in this area may have difficulty following directions, understanding questions, or processing new vocabulary.
  • Expressive language (using words and sentences to communicate thoughts effectively) – Students may struggle to form grammatically correct sentences, describe events, or find the right words when speaking.

Interventions often include vocabulary building, sentence structure development, comprehension exercises, and interactive language activities. Therapy may involve one-on-one instruction, small-group sessions, or classroom support to enhance communication skills and boost confidence.

Fluency & Articulation Therapy

This type of therapy is designed to help students overcome difficulties with:

  • Fluency (stuttering, cluttering) – Stuttering involves interruptions in speech (e.g., repetitions, prolongations, or blocks), while cluttering is characterized by rapid, irregular speech patterns that make communication unclear. Therapy techniques include breathing exercises, pacing strategies, and desensitization techniques to increase fluency and reduce anxiety associated with speaking.
  • Articulation (pronunciation and speech sound errors) – Some students struggle with producing certain sounds correctly (e.g., “wabbit” instead of “rabbit”). Articulation therapy focuses on tongue placement, oral motor exercises, and phonetic drills to improve clarity in speech.

These therapies help students become more confident speakers in academic and social settings.

Social Communication Training

This training is designed for students who struggle with pragmatic language skills, meaning they may have difficulty understanding the social rules of communication, such as:

  • Taking turns in conversations
  • Making eye contact
  • Understanding nonverbal cues (facial expressions, tone of voice, gestures)
  • Knowing when and how to enter a conversation
  • Using appropriate greetings and responses
