What Does a School-Based Occupational Therapist Do?

Occupational therapists support students who struggle with fine motor coordination, sensory regulation, handwriting, self-care, and other foundational skills. In a school setting, OTs evaluate how physical, sensory, and environmental challenges affect a student’s ability to learn and participate fully in academic life.
Our OTs collaborate with teachers, parents, and special education teams to create IEP-aligned therapy plans that improve both function and confidence.
